Funday Friday in St James’s Primary School

Our pupils had a lovely treat today with the arrival of an ice cream van to the school. Every pupil was treated to a ’99’ ice cream cone to enjoy in the fabulous sunshine…even the teachers got to indulge.

The sound of the van’s jingle even made some of the boys and girls dance as they waited!!

Sensory and Physical Skills at St. James’s

Early Focus have been working alongside Occupational Therapist Brenda Cassidy from Zoom Boom Kids to develop Sensory skills and Physical skills programmes for our classes. 1916 Commemorations

On Wednesday the 11th of November two members of the Irish army arrived at our school to present us with an Irish flag and our very own copy of the proclamation of the Irish Republic.  We learnt how to look after our flag and what the colours represent. We also had a very special visitor, John Stephenson, whose grandfather fought at the GPO in 1916. He told us all about the rising and about all the interesting places in our locality where fighting actually took place. We had a great day.
